GA is a safe and effective way to put your child into a gentle sleep during their dental procedure. This eliminates any discomfort or anxiety they might feel, allowing our experienced pediatric dentist to complete the necessary treatment without worry.
When Does My Child Need GA?
We won’t recommend GA unless it’s absolutely necessary. Here are some situations where it might be the best option in Dubai:
- Tiny Teeth, Big Fears: If your child is very young and isn’t quite ready to cooperate during a dental visit.
- A Big Adventure: For complex procedures that take longer, like treating multiple cavities.
- Wobbly on the Chair: When a child has dental anxiety, and other calming techniques don’t work.
- Special Smiles: For children with special needs or other health concerns that make a regular dental visit challenging.
What to Expect as a Parent
Our top priority is your child’s comfort and safety. Here’s what you can expect before, during, and after your child’s GA procedure:
- Understanding Your Options: Your child’s dentist will explain everything about GA and why it’s the best course of action for your little one’s specific situation. They’ll also be happy to answer any questions you have.
- Meeting the Anesthesia Team: You and your child will have a chance to meet the anesthesiologist who will be monitoring them throughout the procedure.
- Preparing for Dreamland: We’ll provide clear instructions on how to prepare your child for GA, including any pre-procedural fasting requirements.
- Safe and Sound Sleep: During the procedure, a highly trained anesthesiologist will be by your child’s side, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Waking Up Happy: After the procedure, your child will be taken to a recovery room where they’ll be monitored until they’re fully awake. You’ll likely be able to be with them during this time.
- Homeward Bound: The dentist will provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery at home.
