Fibroblasts are the skin cells that make up the subcutaneous connective tissue. Collagen is produced and damaged skin is repaired by fibroblasts, protecting the skin’s elasticity and firmness. The activity of fibroblasts declines with age and other factors (eating habits, diets, smoking, intense physical activity, long exposure to sunlight).
