Dr Momen Atieh

GP, Periodontics, Implantology

Dr Atieh has been teaching Periodontology and Oral Implantology at the University of Otago and working in private practice in New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Jordan, a Master of Science degree in Oral Surgery from the University of Manchester, a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree in Periodontology and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Oral Implantology from the University of Otago.

Dr Atieh’s clinical and research expertise comes from conducting well-controlled clinical trials through to systematic reviews. He is the author of over 45 significant papers in peer-reviewed high-impact dental journals. Dr Atieh is also collaborating with the Cochrane Oral Health Group as a lead author of one of the Cochrane reviews in Oral  Implantology.

Dr Atieh is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, the New Zealand Society of Periodontology, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the American Academy of Periodontology. He is also a fellow of the International for Team of Implantology (ITI).

At Vilafortuny Training Centre, he instructs dentists and hygienists on Guided Biofilm Therapy treatment protocols, use of the latest technology for professional prophylaxis based on individual patient diagnosis and risk assessment in order to achieve optimal results.
